Dan graduated from MA Dramatic Writing at Drama Centre in 2015 with a Merit. During this time, Dan’s work developed and grew. Studying the craft of Dramatic Writing under Jennifer Tuckett; Caroline Jester; Philip Shelly; Fin Kennedy; Ola Animashawun; Nina Steiger; and John Yorke – has taken his work into interesting territory. A firm foundation in Dramatic Structure has become the departure point to create storytelling that is rich; complex; well structured; surprising; and unpredictable. Dan makes a contract with his audience which he respects at all costs. Yes, you will see people struggling, falling, making mistakes, failing, doing terrible things, losing essential things, but the possibility of love and redemption is always present. The chance for things to be better is always possible, and always will be.
I consider writing to be a stimulating occupation. I approach it the way
I would a conversation with a person I respect, the talk can be challenging and surprising, and you’re all the better for getting to the end. Writing has taken me to beautiful places and put me face to face with exceptional people.
